TREVOSE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say one person is dead and two others have been taken into custody after gunfire at a suburban Philadelphia motel.

Police in Bucks County said shots were reported at the Knights Inn in Trevose at about 3 p.m. Saturday after officers tried to serve a warrant. The officers weren’t hit.

Police said a woman later surrendered. A man remained in the room holding police off for more than two hours before he was taken into custody. Police said the other man was found dead in the room; it isn’t clear how he died.

Bensalem public safety director Fred Harran said Virginia was looking for the dead man and the woman in connection with a homicide. Police are checking out the surviving man’s story that he was just a hitchhiker.

This story has been corrected to change the dateline and motel location to Trevose rather than Bensalem.
