ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Authorities at Winthrop University say an 18-year-old man was arrested at the Democratic presidential candidates forum after he entered a restricted area set aside for candidates three times.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (https://bit.ly/1WIkYhk) the man was charged with public disorderly conduct and resisting police.

Winthrop Police Chief Frank Zebedis said Friday night’s incident occurred near the rear of Byrnes Auditorium. Zebedis said the man was told three times not to enter the secure area.

The chief said there was no threat to any of the candidates. He said the man tried to flee after being told he was under arrest but was caught.
