BEACON FALLS, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police are investigating a suspicious death after a man’s body was found in a brook in Beacon Falls.

Police say the body was discovered about 4:30 p.m. on Friday after officers responded to 317 Burton Rd. for a report of a drowning victim.

Troopers attempted CPR and other life-saving techniques but the victim was ultimately pronounced dead by responding EMS personnel.

The man has not yet been identified and the medical examiner’s office is trying to determine cause and manner of death.

Police say they are treating the death as suspicious, though they added that there’s no sign of criminal activity or threat to the public at this time.

Beacon Falls is located about 14 miles north of New Haven.
