PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say two people have died in separate overnight collisions.

Police spokesman Trent Crump says a 28-year-old man intentionally stepped into traffic Sunday shortly after 2 a.m. following a domestic dispute on Indian School Road near 51st Avenue.

According to Crump, the man was fatally hit by a vehicle.

The driver fled the area but was caught a short time later.

Crump says the driver appeared impaired.

Meanwhile, a vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic lanes near 103rd and Campbell avenues around 4 a.m. and hit another vehicle head-on.

Police say the 23-year-old woman driving the other car was killed.

The driver of the vehicle that crossed over was hospitalized.

Crump says the driver has been hospitalized but did not release any other details.

This story has been corrected to show the correct intersection near where the second collision occurred.
