MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - An ambulance carrying an elderly patient overturned when it collided with a pickup truck on a southern New Jersey highway, leaving the patient and two other people in the ambulance injured.

The crash in Manchester Township occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say the ambulance was eastbound on Route 37 and the truck was crossing the highway from the southbound side of Colonial Drive when the collision occurred. The 73-year-old patient, the ambulance driver and another passenger were all taken to hospitals, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
