HARMAN, W.Va. (AP) - State authorities are investigating the death of an immature bald eagle in the Harman area.

Capt. D.A. Benson with the Division of Natural Resources Law Enforcement told The Inter-Mountain (https://bit.ly/1MsOshR ) that the eagle appeared to have been shot.

Benson says the eagle will be sent to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for a necropsy.

The DNR is asking anyone who has information about the eagle to contact the agency.
