ROCKY MOUNTAIN, Va. (AP) - Investigators say they can’t determine what caused a fire that destroyed a mill in Rocky Mount.

WDBJ-TV (https://bit.ly/1WK18Cg ) reports that Franklin County assistant fire marshal and investigator David Bowles ruled the cause of the fire at Exchange Milling Co. as undetermined. Bowles’ report says there was no indication the Nov. 1 fire was intentionally set.

Rocky Mount police say the fire caused $3 million in damage.

Exchange Milling owner Bruce Layman says the mill has contracted with another mill to make feed for it. He’s using his other business, Foothills Farm Supply, as a base of operations.

Layman bought the mill in 1999. He says he plans to rebuild.
