AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Police say an Ohio woman has been charged with kidnapping after she allegedly took her 2-year-old male cousin for several hours while she visited drug houses.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office says Olivia Remenyi (reh-MEHN’-yee) was arrested following a short chase Friday night outside an Akron drug house where the child was found safe.

Authorities say the 27-year-old Remenyi was watching the boy at his home in nearby Green when she got permission to take him to the store. Police say they were contacted after several hours passed without her return.

The sheriff’s office says Remenyi took the boy to six separate locations to buy drugs. She’s been charged with kidnapping and child endangering and booked into Summit County Jail. It’s unclear if she’s been appointed an attorney yet.
