NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a Staten Island man has been arrested on drunken driving charges after he struck a guardrail and overturned on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, killing a 19-year-old female passenger.

It happened at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the 65th Street exit ramp.

Police say the front seat passenger, Wiktoria Filc, of Staten Island, was taken to Lutheran Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, identified as Joseph Auteri, sustained an arm injury and was subsequently arrested on various charges, including DWI, vehicular manslaughter and reckless endangerment. It wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer.

Police say three back seat passengers were treated for minor injuries.
