VENTURA, Calif. (AP) - Crews have doused a brush fire in Ventura County that was fueled by Santa Ana winds and briefly threatened several structures.

County officials said Sunday that firefighters have fully contained the 44-acre blaze along eastbound State Route 118 in Moorpark.

When the fire broke out Saturday afternoon, several nearby businesses, a mobile home park and a railroad were threatened, and residents were urged to shelter in place. No structures were damaged and no injuries reported.

Another brush fire in nearby Thousand Oaks has burned about 30 remote acres and is 90 percent contained. Officials expect full containment later Sunday.

Both fires broke out amid dry, windy conditions.
