MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) - Police are seeking help from the public in finding a suspect in the shooting death of an elderly motorist believed to have been caught in a crossfire between two cars at a crime-ridden western Pennsylvania housing project.

Authorities said 73-year-old James Ponzo of Glassport died of a gunshot discovered after his vehicle crashed into another vehicle just before 3 p.m. Wednesday in McKeesport. Officials say he’s believed to having been “an innocent victim” struck by gunfire as he was driving away from a gas station and preparing to attend a cousin’s funeral service.

County police are seeking 18-year-old Rashawn Walker, who is also wanted on two unrelated warrants and is considered armed and dangerous. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Walker was acquitted in September of a January 2014 shooting death.
