MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s Agency of Transportation is hailing progress on road projects around Waterbury, but says there’s more to do.

With the 2015 construction season winding down, the agency is pointing to milestones this year, including rebuilding the northbound and southbound bridges near Waterbury’s Exit 10 on Interstate 89 and the roundabout at the junction of Routes 100 and 2.

The new northbound bridge opened to traffic in early October, three weeks ahead of schedule and just in time to handle heavy traffic volumes during fall foliage season.

Work scheduled for 2016 includes a start to reconstruction of Route 100 between Waterbury and Stowe.
