LAKEWOOD, Wash. (AP) - Police say a 10-year-old boy was killed in a vehicle crash involving a 14-year-old driver in Lakewood.

Lakewood Police say the teenage boy took his family’s car without permission Monday afternoon with three other boys, ages 14, 11, and 10.

Lt. Chris Lawler of Lakewood Police says the car was involved in a minor crash and afterward the driver sped off.

The teen then reportedly lost control of the car, slammed into a pole and then a tree on Veterans Drive Southwest near Pine Street Southwest. Police say the 10-year-old died at a hospital and the three others were injured and taken to a hospital.

Lawler says the driver has been arrested and could face vehicular homicide charges.
