EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Police have arrested a man who they say was driving a car that struck and killed a 9-year-old boy last week in eastern Pennsylvania.

Acting on an anonymous tip, Colonial Regional police on Monday said they found the car that struck and killed Darius Condash, and tracked down the driver.

Police say Royce Atkins admitted hitting Condash on Friday evening in Hanover Township, and then fleeing the scene. The boy had apparently dropped some candy, and stopped to pick it up when he was hit.

Atkins has been charged with accidents involving personal injury or death and careless driving.

The 22-year-old Hanover Township man was arraigned Monday night, and is being held at Northampton County Prison on $50,000 bail.
