PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (AP) - A children’s coat drive is underway in Neshoba County.

God’s Closet, a ministry of the United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church, is seeking coats for nearly 900 boys and girls ages 4 to 18.

The drive continues through the end of January.

Specific colors - black, white, gray and red - are required for Philadelphia schools, where uniforms are worn but the program’s spokeswoman, Brenda Vowell, says they’re accepting all types of lightweight jackets and heavy coats new or gently used.

WTOK-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1RGGLEV ) donation boxes are placed at each of the eight banks in Philadelphia. God’s Closet is located in the Valley View Shopping Center in Philadelphia and is open Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
