GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Gilbert woman has been arrested after her two of her three children tested positive for drugs.

Gilbert police say 36-year-old Holly Brooke was taken into custody Saturday night on suspicion of two counts of child abuse.

Police say they’ve investigating the case since August after going to check out a trespassing call at Brooke’s apartment and noting deplorable living conditions inside.

The Arizona Department of Child Safety then took custody of Brooke’s three children - ages 3, 4 and 11 months.

Court records show the 3-year-old child tested positive for amphetamine and the 11-month-old child tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and THC which comes from marijuana.

Police say Brooke also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

She didn’t have an attorney at her initial court appearance Monday.
