THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Improvements to boat launches in northern Lafourche are expected to be complete before year’s end.

Parish Recreation Manager Jennifer Dufrene tells The Daily Comet (https://bit.ly/20Hl6T7) upgrades at the Larousse Boat Launch recently finished.

She says the roughly $106,000 project included adding a third ramp to the launch and covering the back parking area in concrete to make it more handicap accessible.

At the Theriot Boat Launch in Raceland, high tides from heavy rains delayed a separate project that involves repairing the slip closer to La. 308 and rebuilding most of the wharf.

Dufrene says construction will stop during duck-hunting season, which started Saturday and continues through Dec. 6, but the project is on track to be completed by the end of the year.
