AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - A man charged with killing a 92-year-old Waterville man is due to stand trial this week.

Opening statements are set for Thursday in the trial of Roland Cummings, a handyman who’d done some work for the victim, Aurele Fecteau (AHR’-ee-ahl FEHK’-toh). The jury was selected late last week for the trial in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Police said Fecteau was killed in a robbery.

According to court documents, police matched DNA from the turned-out pockets of Fecteau’s pants to Cummings. Cummings’ sister said he’d been struggling with addiction.
