ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Asheville say the man charged in a slaying at an apartment now faces additional felony counts in the deaths of a couple whose bodies were found in the French Broad River.

Police told local media outlets that Pierre Lamont Griffin II faces charges including first-degree murder, destroying a body or remains following an unnatural death, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Searchers discovered the body of 20-year-old Tatianna Diz on Friday, nine days after the couple disappeared. Their car was found bloodied and with a gunshot hole in the passenger headrest. The body of 22-year-old Alexandra King was found Thursday in the French Broad River near Asheville’s River Arts District.

Investigators think that after the women were killed, Griffin went to the apartment complex and killed another person.
