BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A 21-year-old Bozeman man was killed when the pickup truck he was riding in went off Hyalite Canyon Road south of Bozeman and hit a cluster of trees.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 1 a.m. Monday. The road was frosty.

The patrol says the 23-year-old man from Bozeman who was driving the truck was critically injured and flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Billings for treatment. His passenger died at the scene after the passenger side of the pickup slammed into a large tree.

The names of those involved haven’t been released.
