DOVER, Del. (AP) - A New Castle County grand jury has indicted a man on charges of fatally stabbing a psychiatrist in her home.

The indictment returned Monday against 21-year-old Christopher Frick avoids the need for a preliminary hearing that had been scheduled for Tuesday.

Frick is charged with killing 55-year-old Caroline Ekong, who was found dead in her home on Oct. 14.

Authorities say Frick later called 911 and said he had killed Ekong.

Police have said Frick was obsessed with Ekong, with whom he once had a “professional interaction,” and that he had planned the killing for at least a year.
