NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - A Newport News delegation is in China seeking to attract companies to the city.

The delegation is led by city manager Jim Bourey and includes representatives from Virginia Tech and W.M. Jordan Co. Sister Cities of Newport News organized the 12-day trip.

Sister Cities executive director Kate Kelwig told the Daily Press (https://bit.ly/1PkkFu0 ) that the trip’s goal is to attract companies to the planned Tech Center research park.

Bourey says the delegation is talking to several companies and to Chinese government entities.
