SAN DIMAS, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have captured a mountain lion cub spotted in the foothill city of San Dimas below the San Gabriel Mountains.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Thomas Reid said a deputy on patrol saw the approximately 10-month-old male cub behind a shop Sunday night.

He said sheriff’s deputies, working with animal control officers, followed the cub as it wandered in a neighborhood and used a net to capture it.

Game wardens from the state’s Department of Fish and Wildlife will release the animal back into the Angeles National Forest.
