PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a homeowner has shot and wounded a man during a confrontation.

Sgt. Trent Crump says a man was going through the homeowner’s shed early Sunday morning and that woke up the homeowner.

According to Crump, the homeowner confronted the man, who charged the homeowner and tried to force his way into the home.

Crump says man’s wound isn’t life-threatening and has been taken into custody.

The incident occurred near 59th Avenue and Roosevelt Street.
