PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say an adult and a 12-year-old boy were wounded when an intruder shot a rifle into a residence.

Sgt. Trent Crump says a man claiming to be a police officer forced open the front door and then fired a rifle through the open door.

Crump says the adult resident returned fire with a handgun.

He says the wounds of the adult and the boy are not life-threatening and that police don’t know a motive at this point.

No arrest has been made.

The incident occurred Sunday night near 24th Street and Oak Street.
