NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - Police say a 28-year-old North Las Vegas man was arrested on multiple felony charges after he was accused of leaving the scene when his passenger died after a Ford Expedition SUV slammed into a parked flatbed truck.

North Las Vegas police say Omar Herrera of North Las Vegas faces mandatory prison time on charges including leaving the scene of a fatal crash and drunken driving causing death in the wreck a little before 1 a.m. Monday in an industrial area on Brooks Avenue near Clayton Street.

The Clark County coroner says the passenger, 31-year-old Milton Montes, died of head injuries.

Police say Herrera was the driver of the SUV. He was found a short time later at North Vista Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries that apparently stemmed from a crash.
