TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A man is dead after he was shot by a resident during an apparent home invasion in north Tulsa.

The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/1MGssfc ) that the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say a 44-year-old man knocked on the house’s front door and spoke with a male occupant before the occupant closed the door. The man reportedly kicked in the door, and the occupant shot him four times.

The intruder drove away in a gray SUV and crashed into a parked vehicle about a half a block away. Officers found the man passed out in his car, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A 3-year-old girl in the intruder’s car was unharmed and placed with family members.

Sgt. Dave Walker says the two men involved knew one another.
