SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah prosecutors say they have dropped aggravated kidnapping and forcible sexual abuse charges against a Provo High School student accused in a wrestling team hazing, though the 18-year-old is still facing several counts.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1MSJflB) that the charges against Luis Antonio Castellanos now include child abuse and unlawful detention. Utah County Attorney Jeffrey Buhman said Monday that the new charges better reflect the allegations.

Prosecutors say Castellanos and a 15-year-old teammate held down other wrestlers while a 17-year-old wrester put his bare buttocks on their faces on Oct. 26.

Buhman says the teens have agreed to plea deals in juvenile court. Their names have not been released.

A lawyer for Castellanos did not immediately return a call seeking comment, and a message sent to a school district spokesman was not immediately returned.
