PLUMSTED, N.J. (AP) - A head-on collision involving a car and a tractor-trailer in southern New Jersey has left one person dead and two others injured.

Ocean County prosecutors say the crash occurred around 10 a.m. Monday in Plumsted.

They say the southbound car apparently veered into the northbound lane and hit the truck, which was carrying construction materials. The truck then went off the road and eventually hit a tree.

An 18-year-old Millstone resident who was a passenger in the car was killed. The car’s 19-year-old driver, also of Millstone, and the 73-year-old Allentown man who was driving the truck were both being treated at hospitals for undisclosed injuries.

Prosecutors say the two Millstone residents were headed to Stockton State College in Galloway.
