CHESTER, S.C. (AP) - The S.C. Highway Patrol says a 19-year-old woman has been charged with disregarding a traffic signal after the car she was driving collided with a school bus.

Local media outlets say the accident occurred Monday afternoon on the J.A. Cochran Bypass and involved a school bus and two other vehicles.

Authorities say the bus was coming from a Head Start progra. While crossing an intersection, the bus was struck on one side by a sedan

Walter Kellogg, executive director of Carolina Community Actions, said five students and two adults were on board the bus. He said all were hurt, but no one received life-threatening injuries. Some children were taken to a hospital while others were released on scene. The two people in the car also were injured.
