LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Four people who helped Senior Trooper Steven Vincent while he was critically wounded during a traffic stop will be honored for their courage.

Louisiana State Police have planned a ceremony for Monday at 11:15 a.m. Col. Mike Edmonson, head of the agency, and Capt. Chris Guillory are scheduled to attend.

One of the people being recognized is Robert LeDoux, who tackled the man suspected of shooting Vincent and helped handcuff and hold on to him until police arrived. Vincent was shot Aug. 23 after he found the man’s truck in a ditch and stopped to offer assistance. He died the next day.

Kevin Daigle, the man whom LeDoux is credited with apprehending, is now charged in Vincent’s death.
