WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A middle school teacher has been fired after a video showed him acting aggressively toward a student and pulling a chair out from underneath him.

WFSB reports (https://bit.ly/1L7mYc9) that West Haven police escorted teacher David Pfaff from Harry M. Bailey Middle School and are opening an investigation into the incident.

Police say Pfaff apparently pulled the chair from under the unidentified student because he wouldn’t listen to directions. Another student captured the incident on a cell phone. School administrators received the video last week.

The station says Pfaff, who could not immediately be reached for comment, taught science, had been hired this summer and was still a probationary employee. School officials declined to comment other than to confirm an unnamed teacher had been fired, saying it was a personnel matter.
