FORNEY, Texas (AP) - Two young children have been found unharmed after the vehicle they were in had been stolen.

KXAS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1HpXsnz ) that police found the 5- and 6-year-old children wearing pajamas and walking down the shoulder of a busy road.

Police say they responded to a call regarding the children around 8 p.m. Saturday. While on the way, officers learned that a car with two small children inside had been stolen in Forney. The children matched the descriptions of those found by officers.

One officer made contact with the children while the other found the stolen, unoccupied vehicle at a nearby business with the engine running.

The children’s mother arrived shortly after being notified by police.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
