Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said he would send the thousands of Syrian refugees the United States is preparing to take in back out of the country if he’s president.

He told CNN’s Don Lemon that the country isn’t going accept people who “may be ISIS,” another name for the Islamic State group.

“We have no idea who they are. We have no idea where they come from,” Mr. Trump said. “And I’m just telling you right now, they may come in, through the weakness of Obama, but they’re going out if I become president. They will not stay here. They are going back to Syria, whether it’s safe zones or whatever.”

The Obama administration has announced it plans to admit at least 10,000 Syrian refugees in fiscal 2016, with some Democrats calling for more.
