BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A man who walked away from a Billings pre-release center last week has been arrested, along with his wife, in Portland, Oregon.

U.S. Marshals and Portland police arrested 32-year-old Mikel Knick and 36-year-old Jotera Knick on Wednesday night.

Mikel Knick was sentenced to 24 years in prison for negligent homicide in the November 2010 beating death 55-year-old Daniel Young. Knick also was convicted of kidnapping a woman. Prosecutors said Knick believed both had stolen marijuana from him.

Knick was an inmate worker at Alpha House and walked away from a staff-supervised shopping trip on Sept. 22.

Jotera Knick was convicted of accountability to the woman’s kidnapping and was sentenced to three years with the Department of Corrections. She was wanted for violating her probation.
