SEDONA, Ariz. (AP) - Forest officials say the amount of toilet paper and human waste around the trail to Cathedral Rock in Sedona is unsightly.

They’re seeking public comment on the installation of a permanent unisex vault toilet for public use. It would blend in with the environment and be hidden from the road.

More than 80,000 people a year access the trail to photograph the towering red rock walls, seek inspiration and marvel at the landscape.

Forest officials say the toilet would be installed as soon as funding is available.

Comments are being accepted until Oct. 30.
