BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana University police are investigating the disappearance of a 20-year-old student reported missing Monday by a relative.
IU police Lt. Craig Munroe tells The Herald-Times (https://bit.ly/1LSiNX5 ) Joseph William Smedley II was reportedly last seen about 11:30 p.m. by his roommates. A relative reported him missing Monday morning.
But Munroe says foul play isn’t suspected right now in Smedley’s disappearance. He says Smedley told the relative who reported him missing that he was leaving the country.
Relatives and friends took to social media Wednesday and circulated missing person fliers and photographs with the hashtag #FindJosephSmedley.
Police described Smedley as a black man, 5-feet-7-inches tall and 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about Smedley’s whereabouts is asked to call IU police at 812-855-4111.
