FRISCO, Colo. (AP) - A jury has acquitted a man charged in a fatal beating outside a Frisco motel.

The Summit Daily reports (https://bit.ly/1j2RQoF ) jurors deliberated for a day before finding 43-year-old Charles Sattler not guilty Thursday of manslaughter and first-degree assault in the death of 38-year-old Blake Bostic.

Sattler is accused of getting into a fight with Bostic outside the Snowshoe Motel in April 2014. Bostic died hours later from blunt-force trauma to the head.

Prosecutors had argued that Sattler acted knowingly and recklessly in the attack. But the defense said he had only fought the man to defend his friend from an alleged attack by Bostic.

Sattler’s murder trial ended in a mistrial in June, and the murder charge was dropped.

His family burst into tears after the verdict was read Thursday.
