BUNNELL, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man charged earlier this year with fatally shooting a puppy has been arrested for allegedly choking and battering his live-in girlfriend.

Kevin McClenithan was arrested Tuesday night and charged with domestic battery and marijuana possession. Authorities said McClenithan, 46, head butted and slapped her in the face and also threatened to burn the house down as the couple argued.

Flagler County sheriff’s officials said McClenithan also threatened to track down the deputy who arrested him and beat him up once he was released from jail.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (https://tinyurl.com/qhe676t ) reports McClenithan was charged with animal cruelty in May after authorities say he shot a neighbor’s 10-month old Labrador puppy after it ran into his yard.
