PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Officials say a man in his 20s was hospitalized after he was hit by a train in Philadelphia.

A Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokeswoman says the man was crossing the outbound tracks at the Fern Rock Transportation Center Wednesday night when he was hit by the train as he was pulling himself on the platform.

The spokeswoman tells Philly.com (https://bit.ly/1N3w2pt ) that the SEPTA Regional Rail train had just left Temple University station and was passing through Fern Rock on its way to North Wales Station.

The man was taken to Einstein Medical Center. His identity has not been released and his condition is unknown.
