KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee is dedicating a Hall of Champions and a Hall of Fame Plaza on campus Friday in honor of former football coach and athletic director Doug Dickey.

The Doug Dickey Hall of Fame Plaza will be adjacent to a residence hall currently under construction. The Doug Dickey Hall of Champions will be located in the north hallway of the Neyland-Thompson Center.

The Hall of Fame Plaza will recognize all members of the Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame. The Hall of Champions will detail Tennessee’s NCAA and Southeastern Conference championship teams, Olympians and All-Americans.

Dickey coached Tennessee from 1964-69 and posted a 46-15-4 record. Dickey was Tennessee’s athletic director from 1985-2002.

Friday’s ceremony is being held in conjunction with a reunion of the 1965 Tennessee football team on its 50th anniversary.
