ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) - A traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington will be on display at the fairgrounds in Essex Junction.

An opening ceremony for the 250-foot replica called The Wall That Heals takes place at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Officials say more than four million people visit the memorial in Washington each year but many Americans are not able to get there so the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund built the traveling wall to give all veterans and their families an opportunity to see it.

The wall bears the names of the more than 58,000 U.S. military members who died in Vietnam.

The replica along and an education center will be open and free to the public from Thursday through Sunday.
