FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - A 68-year-old Massachusetts woman is accused of assaulting her 96-year-old mother-in-law who has dementia.

Judge David Cunis said Wednesday a video that authorities say shows Carol Delano of Framingham assaulting the woman is the most disturbing thing he’s seen in nine years on the bench. He called it “monstrous behavior.”

The Metrowest Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1Vs3V2p ) Delano was arrested Tuesday after the victim’s financial adviser reported he saw her picking the woman up and slamming her down on a chair. He used his phone to record the alleged incident.

Delano denied the assault to police. Her attorney says it’s not clear from the video what occurred.

Prosecutors say the victim was covered with bruises and is being treated for brain bleeding.

Delano is being held on $7,500 bail.
