PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says a woman has died and seven others, including tourists from China, were injured after two vehicles collided in Pahrump.

KSNV-TV in Las Vegas reports (https://bit.ly/1jWf1Ba ) that the accident shortly before 10:40 a.m. Saturday near State Route 160 and Bell Vista Road.

NHP spokesman Loy Hixson says a van carrying five Chinese tourists tried to make a left turn from SR 160 when it was hit by a Ford Excursion.

Authorities say a woman sitting in the van’s right rear passenger seat was killed. Another person was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.

Three others in the van and three men in the Ford were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Hixson says the tourists in the van were likely heading to Death Valley.
