TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say three people have been charged in a human trafficking scheme involving a 14-year-old girl.

Local news media reported Saturday that Tuscumbia Police was called Monday night by some of the girl’s family members saying she went missing. Officers shortly after received another call, telling them a girl around the same age was being used as a prostitute.

Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan says drugs and money were exchanged to have sexual contact with the girl in a back bedroom.

Police say 26-year-old Rashard Ricks has been charged with human trafficking and 21-year-old Jerrin Donley has been charged with rape. The 19-year-old Dashia Simmons has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police believe there will be more arrests will be made in this case.
