COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio appeals court says a jury should consider the case of an employee of a Christian leadership and sports camp who sued after she was fired for living with her boyfriend out of wedlock.

The Seventh District Court of Appeals on Friday reversed a Jefferson County Common Pleas Court decision finding that Brightway Center Inc. in Smithfield was within its rights to fire Jennifer Trehar after her boyfriend moved in with her, because it objected on religious grounds.

The camp in eastern Ohio terminated Trehar from the staff job in 2010 because, the company said in a letter, “living together outside marriage is forbidden by the Scriptures.” Trehar’s complaint said the CEO had promised her she would not be fired for moving in with the man.
