NEW YORK (AP) - A Con Edison worker rescued a toddler who was in danger of falling from a window ledge in the Bronx.

The Daily News reports (https://nydn.us/1R3WoWh ) that 26-year-old Essa Waggeh was inspecting a gas line Friday when he heard screams.

A 2-year-old girl had pushed out a piece of cardboard in the window and climbed onto a ledge 25 feet above the sidewalk.

Waggeh grabbed a ladder and got the child.

He said he did it because he knew she was in danger.

Police say no charges have been filed against any of the adults who were in the apartment. They say the case has been referred to the Administration for Children’s Services.
