OAKLEY, Calif. (AP) - The Coast Guard is crediting a Good Samaritan with helping to rescue two people from an overturned vessel near a marina in Oakley.

The Coast Guard says the father, his 11-year-old son and a dog were rescued Friday afternoon after a Good Samaritan responded to a request for help.

The Coast Guard says the father and son were wearing life jackets and had a cellphone that helped officials determine their location.
