ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Officials say a man who was being held at the Arlington County Detention Facility has died.

County officials said in a statement that 53-year-old Edward Straughn died early Saturday after he was found unconscious in a medical cell at the facility. Straughn was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials say Straughn had been in custody since Friday as a result of a trespassing conviction. Officials said that because he has a history of medical issues he was placed in a medical cell near a nursing station.

Authorities say an autopsy will be conducted and that following standard procedure police will investigate. Straughn’s death is the second at the facility this year.
