MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Prosecutors say a man has been sentenced to life in prison in connection to a 2013 fatal double shooting outside a local eatery in suburban Atlanta.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds says 46-year-old Isadore Walker Barboza was convicted Friday in the murder of 32-year-old Ebone Driskell in Smyrna.

Reynolds says Barboza and two others targeted two people in an attempted robbery. But Driskell pulled out a pistol and shot Barboza’s cohort, Quondre Bentley, in the neck.

Reynolds says Barboza shot Driskell and fled in her vehicle with Bentley. Driskell died in the parking lot and Barboza abandoned the vehicle and the dying Bentley.

A cellphone recovered from Bentley’s body led detectives to 26-year-old Renee Elizabeth Harris, who later admitted she drove Bentley and Barboza to the eatery. Harris will be sentenced on a later date.
